COMMUNITY BACKSTORY

The Moore post office was established during the Land Run of 1889 and was officially incorporated in 1893. The city remained small throughout the first half of the twentieth century until the 1960s brought a population explosion and more than 18,761 people by 1970. The community has continued to grow, with more than 60,000 residents, and is consistently ranked as one of the best communities to live in and raise a family in Oklahoma.
